Arwynd Swings

Finally released! I've been working on these for over two months now... ok well working, and then leaving for other projects... heh. I had them physically built a while back but wanted to create a variety of sitting poses for the cushions, and have some of them work together if several people were sitting there at once.

I finally tracked down some poses I was happy with and then got them integrated and aligned so I'm proud to get them out and available for you!

As normal, prim count is very reasonable. I've used a variety of sculpties to make things look more realistic and the swings come in two variants; a purple and lilac 'fae' type, and a more traditional looking one to match in with the Stained Glass Treehouse range.

The poses work individually or together with others if you choose to share your swing with friends or partner. Enjoy!

Elven Stained Glass

I've been wanting to make some really ELVEN stained glass for some time. I love the organic swirls of the elven style and jewel-like colours of the glass.

This set comes in nine different colours, including clear. I included three variations in the metalwork; gold, silver and copper. Some of the colour combinations are really quite gorgeous and I've redone the fencing outside Arwynd Hall in this style.

As well as fencing, the textures also work well as glass. The glass is actually semi-transparent when you use it, so it's quite atmospheric when used in a building.

I'm also releasing a set of thin iridescent tiles which can be used along the edges of fencing, or window frames.

Both sets can be found in Arwynd Hall - enjoy! :)

Finally out of Beta

Well good morning! For those of you who have been exploring the Stained Glass Treehouse, you will have noticed a whole lot of furniture in there that doesn't appear to be for sale. You've definitely seen them - the three seater sofa with those lovely poses, the recliner upstairs - and that gorgeous carved dark wood cupboard.

These items have been a work in progress - a chance for you to comment on them, test out the poses etc. When I create things I try and live with them for a while - sometimes you don't notice that a texture isn't quite aligned, or that poses don't work for people of different sizes - until you've tested and lived with your creations.

I'm glad to say I'm now completely happy with them and they're released to the world!

the Stained Glass Treehouse Bedroom set consists of a recliner with two poses, a seductive laying back pose, and a reading one. These are animated poses - I searched for a while for some really good ones :). There's a matching circular glass table, a carved wooden cupboard, and a pose stand. They're all copy, and perfect matches for the bed.

The Living Room Expansion Set has some extra furniture items I wanted to create for the treehouse. There's a two-seater and three-seater sofa included - both have copy permissions so you can rez as many as you need - great for outdoor patios and garden living also.
The three-seater sofa has three different ANIMATED poses inside - the male pose is on the left, and the centre and right hand poses are female - all co-ordinated so it looks like a conversation is happening.
The two-seater sofa has a couples pose in there. Men on the left, women on the right.
Both of these seats have the poses built right into them - no poseballs to add prims - simply right click on the cushions themselves.
There's also a small circular garden table in this set, as well as a large, curved cupboard unit - with intricate floral carving.

Both can be found in the Stained Glass Treehouse at Arwynd Hall and will be listed on SLX shortly :)

Projects Underway

So far I've talked about items which are newly released, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to give you an idea of the kind of things Rathmeous and I are working on.

I usually have three or four ideas I'm working with at one time. Depending how I feel - determines what gets worked on first!

The Underwater Range
I have working versions of a bed and some furniture out at the moment. If you go to Arwynd Hall you should spot the TP which will take you to the demo area. These will be officially released in the next couple of days and will come as a boxed set. I have some ideas and textures for other furniture in this range - cabinets/cupboards etc.

Windlight Lamps
I'm updating some of my scripted lamps to be windlight-compliant. This means they'll take advantage of the 'glow' setting so they're clearer when they are 'on' and 'off'. The new script I'm using has three states - Off, Mid and High. The Mid setting gives a small amount of glow and the colour of the light given out will match the lamp. The High setting gives a larger amount of glow and a bright white light.
They are also set to automatically come on at night.

The Gold Filigree Globe Lamps have been updated in-world. You'll see the new graphic for them on the wall in Arwynd Hall and you can test out the effects on the ones at the entrance. If you're an Arwynd Creations group member, you'll soon receive a notice telling you how you can upgrade your old lamp for a new one if you prefer it.

The Gothic lamps will follow shortly and have the same settings with the additional advantage that switching one on, switches them all on, to the same setting (saves you having to run around clicking lots of lamps!)

Remember - if you are not using Windlight or have a lower performing graphics card, you may not see the glow effect.

Build Packs
A number of textures I use in my builds are not mine and so I am unable to repackage and sell them. I would really like you to be able to customise some of my builds and create your own add-ons which would match. Several of you have asked for this and it is something I'm starting to work on.

Build Packs will be sets of ready-textured prims in a variety of styles. They will have Copy/Mod permissions so that you are able to make as many as you wish, and change the shape of the prims and the texture alignment as you need.

I am intending to create a pack for each of the main 'styles' of builds in my range, plus some generic helpful textures and shapes - such as vines, spires, etc. Watch this space for progress!

Medieval Builds
Rathmeous and I are working on a whole set of Medieval buildings, suitable for arranging into a village and marketplace. Some of the builds are released already and have copy permissions so you can create as many of them as you like. We're also considering options such as 'sim packs'. With the drop in sim prices, we expect many of you will need to get up and running quite quickly!

There's also a top-end castle which is going to be pretty special. Think drawbridge, dungeon, hidden rooms, treasure room, throne room, huge fireplaces... And with that in mind, add in some awe-inspiring textures, integrated bathroom, furniture sets for a royal dining suite, bedroom suite etc... :)

Not All Horses Are Created Equal

A few years ago I owned the most amazing horse. He was a Thoroughbred ex-racehorse - a true gentleman. We took each other eventing - he had an awesome, huge jump. He knew exactly when I wasn't going to make it, and would stop for me to get myself together and carry on! He was the best horse I'd ever ridden. I never really got over his loss and I haven't ridden much since.

Yesterday, I thought I'd go and take a look at what Fiona Branagh was doing. Just, out of the blue, I needed a break from building. I already own her Friesian horse and thought I might see what she'd been working on recently. Well - she's released a Thoroughbred sporthorse - and it's the spitting image of my horse. After I tried the demo, I was absolutely amazed. This is the most realistic looking, and MOVING horse I've ever seen in SL. I thought her Friesian was good, but this horse is a whole lot more personal to me :)

Take a look at the images below to see just how well done the movement on this horse is. I can't wait to try him out with a saddle! ~Alecto

BlueNouveau - New 3D Texture Set

I'd been meaning to create another texture set for a while, but got carried away with the Stained Glass Treehouse.

This morning I woke up and was going through some of my graphic projects - you know how it is - dragged them into Photoshop and suddenly saw exactly what I wanted to create.

There's pretty much all the textures you'll need to create your own build here - there are ceiling tiles, two versions of floor tiles - a bluey glass tile - which could easily be made semi-transparent if you wanted to have something interesting going on underneath your build - and a blue granite.

The interior wall is blue-grey marble, with gold veins running through. There are lots of variations on this, with borders, top and bottom and also jewelled ornaments. Window textures come in gold and blue drapes, with an alpha'd circular window. The silk velvet drapes are also included plain, and with a top tapestry banner. The outside wall is blue-grey stone and there's an exterior window option included so you can match the interior wall. For the roof, there are grey slates.

All textures are full permissions so you can use them on your own and resale projects - but they are not licenced for you to resell on their own as textures. They must be applied to an object such as a building.

I hope this set inspires you as much as the GoldenPalace set!

Arwynd Gothic Bedroom Set

Quite a few of you have confessed to me of your secret purple passion (and in some cases not so secret...)! Gothic or not, the lure of purple silk and velvet is too much for some and I've certainly had a lot of whispered requests for it.

In trials, upon receiving this bed, customers tossed away their boring flanellette sheets and swore never to go back. Well - at least one of them did anyway :)

The bed is menu driven and comes with both sex and cuddle poses - many of them animated. The silk drapes are topped by sculpties with a subtle windlight glow. The sculpted recliner has sexy laying and and playful reading poses. Demo the set at Arwynd Hall.. but try not to get carried away !

A New Designer

I found this great dress a few days ago and thought how well it went with the Stained Glass Treehouse range! The skirt moves like it's 'weighted' and doesn't fly around at the merest hint of wind. The underskirt is in a contrasting darker green and the whole thing fits my shape well (ie. it doesn't have prims which start out wider than my hips). The set comes with a couple of different corset tops (my favourite is the one with the red edging as seen in the pic) and also two different length skirts.

It's by a new designer, Wooly Morgwain. She also has some awesome lingerie of which I now own quite a selection.

She's been using some of my fabric textures - I must say it's really great to see them worked up as clothing! If anyone catches any more examples around, please let me know!

Recent Releases : Treehouse Beds

A couple of recent releases to match the Stained Glass Treehouse.

The Living Room set is, as always, low prim and features complimentary textures to accent the interior of the treehouse. Of course, these would also work well in a castle or medieval dwelling. I've tried to reuse some of the Stained Glass interior textures on the furniture as I think they're extremely pretty and reminiscent of the Art Nouveau period of which I'm so fond.

There's another Living Room set to come after this one, with long awaited 3-seater and 2-seater sofas. I've been working on building the poses into these, so that there are no poseballs in mid-air, and of course it saves on prims.

And of course once I'd finished the living room, my thoughts strayed to the bedroom. I'd not attempted a bed before, apart from an awful gorean experiment which ended up entirely too 'fuchsia velvet'.

After tinkering for a while with the style and textures I wanted, I ended up with a circular bed. The beta version of this bed had a looped top with hanging vines, but due to the low roof of the treehouse I found that when people stepped off the poseballs, they ended up launched into the loop and were unable to get out! As a female, I'm naturally shorter and didn't encounter this problem but once I'd seen my partner get stuck there a couple of times, I felt that wasn't something you want to end a nice cuddle session with :) The finished version has two wooden uprights topped with sculpties.

I started off creating a bed which was going to have a couple of nice cuddle poses and a sleep pose in it, but along the way I managed to integrate a Multipose script so now there are two versions of the bed. The scripted one has enough animations to keep most people happy, but not so many you get lost trying to find the one you want - and is VERY decently priced.

Now I'm working on matching this bed to some of my other ranges - including a Gothic and an Elven version. If you have something you'd like to see at this point, please let me know !
